Applicant Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be an Aspiring Gursikh;
  • Be passionate and self-motivated towards community service;
  • Be seniors in high school planning to attend a four-year college/university;
  • Be residents of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut; and
  • Have a minimum of 3.00 cumulative high school GPA

Application Process

Candidates must:

  • Complete the Sikh Youth Scholarship Application including writing prompts in one sitting (the application cannot be saved on your server) and
  • Postmark an official high school transcript & 2010 Tax returns (or 2009 if 2010 are not prepared yet) to: The Sikh Youth Scholarship P.O. Box 2361, Flemington NJ 08822

Recipient Requirements

Recipients must:

  • Participate in the administrative activities of The Sikh Youth Scholarship Executive Board;
  • Join the staff at Camp Chardi Kala during the summer prior to beginning their undergraduate education;
  • Develop and execute a seminar targeted towards high school students and their parents, pertaining to the collegiate application process and high school student development; and
  • Deliver a presentation on a topic approved by the Executive Board

Note: The Sikh Youth Scholarship is a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We acknowledge your privacy and verify that we are the sole owners of all information provided to us by students, parents, and academic institutions. Selected judges who assess applicants’ credentials and financial need will not be provided specific names of our student applicants. Furthermore, to ensure your privacy we will not sell, distribute, or share this information with any third party as we recognize it to be confidential.
